HOW CAN I JOIN the icc sailing club?
To get on the water, new members only have to demonstrate their SAILING competence by possessing an RYA Level 2 keelboat or powerboat certificate, or by passing a straightforward ICC assessment of their skills.
The ICC in Salcombe is a natural progression and popular choice for newly qualified RYA sailors who have done RYA sailing courses in centers such as UKSA in Cowes and Queen Mary Sailing Club in London, who are looking to expand their experience to the coastal waters of Devon, and sail amongst many other boats in a buzzing harbour and waterway such as the Salcombe and Kingsbridge Estuary.
NEVER SAILED BEFORE?
NO PROBLEM!
The ICC can arrange for tuition for you and your crew. After being approved to take a boat out you can choose how much time you want to spend on the water. The cheapest way to sail if you’re sailing frequently is to buy a season ticket for £500 + membership sub.
You will need someone to crew with you but to start with there is no extra charge for your crew. This is the unique way to be part of the boating community in the heart of Salcombe without breaking the bank!
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Judging by the search term ‘sailing boat for sale’ being one of the most popular in Google, a lot of people are still looking to buy their own boat. When you consider the price they pay for their boat divided by the amount of days they can actually use it, it could well still be in the thousands, and that is if they are lucky enough to find a mooring!
Most harbours have a very long waiting list, and Salcombe’s is one of the longest. At the ICC we take away all that expense (mooring fees, annual repairs, maintenance, harbour fees etc) and effectively let you use any of our 6 boats as many times a year as you choose. Even if that was only 10 days a year, that would be as little as £50/day!
So whether you are looking for a family membership, or possibly giving membership to a friend or loved one as a gift, give us a call today and we can talk you through the joys of sailing in Salcombe.
